The “Flow of Seasons” series is joined by a new addition to the Elegance Collection. The lightly colored dial of the SBGW281 Bantō evokes the seasonal transition from winter to spring, when warm sunshine thaws the snow and reveals the trees and soil hidden during a cold winter.
A close look at the SBGW281 Bantō’s lightly colored dial shows that it has a delicate organic pattern, against which the famously precise Grand Seiko diamond-cut markers and hands ensure legibility and beauty.
The elegantly shaped 37.3mm x 11.7mm stainless-steel case has been Zaratsu polished at the hands of Grand Seiko’s takumi, giving it a clean, crisp, and distortion-free surface. A light tan crocodile strap completes the watch, further evoking the light and warmth of impending spring.
The SBGW281 Bantō is powered by the attractively finished 9S64 caliber, its large gear-train bridge visible through the case back. Turning the crown starts the 28,800 bph movement running and fills it up with 72 hours of power reserve. A “slipping attachment” structure in the barrel prevents over-winding.
