The “Flow of Seasons” collection is joined by a new model in the Elegance Collection. The crimson dial of the SBGW287 Boshū is inspired by the seasonal transition from autumn to winter, when the takumi of the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi feel the arrival of winter.
The beautiful foliage turns a resplendent red, heralding winter’s impending arrival. A close examination of the Boshū dial reveals a natural organic pattern, against which diamond-cut hands and hour markers mete out the time not only brilliantly, but legibly.
The elegantly shaped 37.3mm x 11.7mm stainless-steel case has been Zaratsu polished at the hands of Grand Seiko’s artisans, giving it a clean, crisp, and distortion free reflective surface. A burgundy crocodile strap completes the SBGW287 Boshū, further evoking the chilling of autumn and the arrival of early winter.
The SBGW287 Boshū is powered by the attractively finished 9S64 mechanical caliber, its large gear-train bridge visible through the case back. Turning the crown starts the movement and fills it up with 72 hours of power reserve, a ritual to be enjoyed daily. A “slipping attachment” structure prevents over-winding and damage to the mainspring.
