Reference SBGC205 is powered by Grand Seiko’s unique Spring Drive caliber, which combines the motive force of a mainspring with the high precision of a quartz watch. It allows the watch to maintain precise timekeeping while also incorporating accurate chronograph capabilities and a GMT function, all with a three-day power reserve.
Inspired by a stop watch that was used in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, Reference SBGC203 has pushers with a unique, two-stage construction. Designed with a ready stage so that the chronograph can be armed by pressing the button half way, you’ll always get an accurate start. There is also a screw lock system on each pusher that prevents the chronograph from being activated unintentionally. The case and bracelet are made of high-intensity titanium, giving the watch notable scratch and corrosion resistance while being 30% lighter than stainless steel. The deep black of the dial contrasts with the gold of the hands and indices, and the dial is protected by a dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
